1866 on June 8th the 14th amendment of the constitution
was passed by both congress. The amendment was created to allow citizenship and
protect the civil liberties of recently freed slaves. It did this by
prohibiting states from denying the privileges of citizens of the United
States, depriving any person of his life, liberty, or property without due
process of law. Or denying to any person within their jurisdiction the equal
protection of the laws.
We can't have D.U.I. checkpoints imbedded in certain areas because the 14th amendment in the constitution says you can not search or seize without reason. This is considered impeaching on our rights and many innocent people are being stopped and having to wait for these checkpoints. We can stop this by going to our government and and compromising with them. Also by going to senates and letting them know too. Using congressional methods you and I can join the fight against Drunk Driving and D.U.I. checkpoints.
